Announcement for accounts that has activated the FTP, SFTP or FTPS app on Tradeshift. Starting 18th October 2014, Tradeshift is introducing a change to the FTP, FTPS and SFTP apps.

How does this work today?
When you upload a file using these methods, Tradeshift attempts to convert it to the Tradeshift native business language (UBL). The original, uploaded file remains on the FTP, SFTP or FTPS server as a temporary file whether or not the conversion is successful.
Currently, these temporary files are retained for an indefinite period, available for you to access, along with files containing conversion and dispatch result statuses. After your upload and the processing, the purpose of these files are reconciliation of your transaction records.
What is the change?
Starting 18th October 2014, Tradeshift is introducing a 120-day retention policy for the direct access of these temporary files.
How will this change affect you?
• For files that are successfully converted, you will continue to have access to the UBL version of your file, which is retained according to policy for a minimum of 10 years. The original source file will be deleted and an encoded copy of the source file will be embedded in the archived UBL version of your document on Tradeshift. Because of this there is no impact to your compliance with electronic business document exchange regulations.
• For files that fail to convert, you now will have 120 days to retrieve that file for any future use you desire. At the end of that 120 days, the files will be deleted.
